Going Solo with Erin + Paula

PortaLaw’s cofounders Erin Brandt and Paula Krawus teamed up with the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia today to talk about going solo. Along with their colleagues in the BC bar, they shared PortaLaw’s origin story and hot tips on building your own firm and dream team.

Erin presented on the logistics of setting up a company, from incorporating, to opening a bank account to building a tech stack. Paula and her fellow panelists focused on the human resource side of opening a law firm. She talked about the importance of being yourself in job advertisements and building relationships with employees.

It’s been almost two years since Erin and Paula opened PortaLaw’s doors. In that short time, they have learned enough from their mentors and own experience to start sharing that knowledge with the next wave of small law lawyers.

You can sign up for the rebroadcast of Going Solo or Starting a Small Law Firm 2022 here.

Caption would go here and look like this. It would also be a good place for a photo credit.
