On June 30, 2020, British Columbia became the first province in Canada to allow a for-profit business to become a benefit company. By definition, a benefit company commits to conducting its business in a responsible and sustainable manner. It must promote one or more public benefit, which can be charitable, cultural, economic, educational, environmental, or religious.

We are proud to announce that on January 25, 2021, we changed our corporate status to a registered benefit company.

We will continue to provide a fresh and innovative option for employment and human rights legal services in BC in alignment with our vision of value pricing, accessible legal information (see OpenPorta), and our entrepreneurial spirit. By becoming a benefit company, we intend to make a positive impact in our community to assist businesses, nonprofits, workers and the environment.
